Remember the thrill of making mud pies? Building dens in the woods or digging for worms? That childhood book that stays with you now or friendships that teach you how to be yourself? Well, here at Little Star we know the importance of these life long memories and skills , so provide children with those everlasting memories that become the building blocks with which to learn and develop.
We plan for your children by listening to them and observing their interests and responding to their needs. Play is structured but child led and in this way can lead us in any direction – wooden blocks can become a dog on a lead; pebbles become boulders for diggers and a sheet of fabric butterfly wings. Children learn best when stimulated, interested and excited by life and we will help each individual learn in their own unique way – be it as a super hero or a botanist.
The philosophy at both our settings is one based on developing trusting relationships and giving each child the skills they need to tackle their individual challenges: be that climbing a step, or a tree, balancing blocks or building a space ship from marshmallows (it has been done!).
